Default Another approach to stopping eBay money

If we're all really in favor of stopping eBay/bot money ANet can sting the buyers instead.

They can set up fake rival eBay sales for GW gold - then when someone makes a purchase - just cancel the transaction with a warning. Then freeze their account for 7 days as a punitive measure. That should discourage people from doing business with eBay merchants for GW Gold for fear of being stung by ANet.

People would figure out who to not buy from, and that's entrapment... Not that it makes much of a difference. It's not really effective.

Sure, it's entrapment - but it's not illegal.

Anet "Looks like a butterfly stings like a bee"... i rather like that

Im sure many people will dissagree with this, but i however agree with it.. Ebayers need to learn their lesson. Play legit or quit ( sounds a little M.C.Hammer-ish, but its true.)

Would be nice idea yeh, but imo, i'd rather they used their time on positive things for the game and updating the game rather than chasing up something in such a fashion which doesnt effect me and none of you either so much...

Although yes.. i dont agree with the fact it is done.

Well I wouldn't mind if they did it or not to tell the truth seeing as I never have and never will buy GW gold. I'm an honest player, and if you don't believe me, then eat my pure shit.

Which game initiated their own auction type solution to this problem? Was it EQ/EQ2 or something?
I think i read something about it somewhere. Never actually played those games.

Why not hire someone to work at eBay who will make sure that we have no gold auctioned?

Like by closing the PayPal account of any users who sell gold on eBay. That would be effective at stopping them.

I don't know why that isn't often considered as a feasible option... the shut down the paypal account for savetoby... (I was extremely disappointed)... Course, that was after he had raised more cash than I make in a year BY HOLDING A RABBIT HOSTAGE!!!

lmao

Customized gold would be very funny, but they'd figure a way around i'm sure.
